Tesla’s all-wheel drive Model X with powertrain based on the Model S has been seen before, but its interior is all-new and impressing show-goers this week in Detroit.
The car on display was the handiwork of the Tesla Design Studio and is being called a preview of what to expect when this, Tesla’s next production vehicle, is launched.
Featuring white and black leather, the stylized design is echoed in the details of the dashboard.
The Model X on display carries forward the trademark “falcon wing” doors of the unique Model X. While the doors are funky, this being a crossover, it is ultimately meant for utility and has three rows of seats.
On the interior center display is the same large 17-in touch screen carried over from the Model S.
The vehicle looks extremely promising, and is a much closer indication of what customers can expect of the production model.
Tesla has been taking reservations for it for some time now, and it is due for launch near the end of this year.
