Coda is in with some GOOD Company

Coda says it has some good news and here it is: The company has been selected as one of 40 businesses to be profiled in the GOOD Company Project, presented by GOOD.

See? We weren’t kidding were we? So much for worrying about any bad news on your Friday.

But what’s so good really? Guess that depends on your perspective, but Coda’s pretty pleased. The IBM-sponsored GOOD Project is a “quest to find 40 businesses between 100 and 1,000 employees that are working for a smarter, better world,” so that implies Coda Automotive is doing some things right.

But just who is GOOD, and why should you care?

If you've not heard of it before, GOOD is “an integrated media platform for people who want to live well and do good, and a community for the people, businesses, and NGOs moving the world forward.”

Launched in September 2006, GOOD currently produces a Web site, videos, live events, and a print magazine.

In order to be selected for the project, each of the 40 companies were perceived to excel in at least two of six core values considered “characteristic of a good company in the 21st century.”

These core values are: Innovative, Sustainable, Creative, Socially Responsible, Diverse, and Globalized.

The GOOD Company Project seeks to promote ongoing discussion about the ideas, trends, and firms that will set the tone for business in the century ahead.

Incidentally, Zipcar is also one of the featured companies, and the complete list of all 40 selected for The GOOD Company Project can be found here.
